Can I put brushes for water-based paint (acrylic) in the same Store and Go pot as brushes for solvent-based (alkyd) paint?
Yes you can. The gel will seal and insulate the brush bristles. If you use both types of brushes frequently, you may consider using two Store and Go’s. In Store and Go XL there are two bins you can choose from to store the brushes. So for example, one bin for water-based paints and the other bin for solvents.
Can I put brushes used for light colors in the same storage jar as brushes used with dark colors?
Yes you can. The gel prevents paint residue from coming off the brush bristles. Of course, you can still distinguish between a dark and light brush pot by using two (or more) Store and Go’s.
Can I use Store and Go with all types of brushes?
Yes you can. The system is suitable for all types of brushes with the exception of brushes used with very specific paint systems such as moisture-curing, 2-component and with an exceptionally low PH value of
Is it necessary to clean my brushes before storing them in Store and Go?
No, it is not necessary, except if the paint already hardens in the brush while working, then the drying process is already too far advanced. When you do clean the brushes beforehand, the gel does stay clean for a longer period of time. In addition, your brushes will remain in better condition when you clean them regularly with our Clean and Go system. If you are using very liquid materials (such as stains), it is better to remove most of the material from the brush bristles with a cloth or by turning the brush around briefly before placing the brush in the gel.
Is it necessary to put a lid on the storage container?
We recommend using the included lid as it extends the life of the gel and prevents dust from falling into the gel.
Is it necessary to remove all gel from the bristles before painting with the brush?
We recommend removing all gel from the brush bristles with a cloth. The laboratory tests showed no negative results with small residues of gel still present in the brush. Nevertheless, we cannot rule out that gel residues could have negative effects on the paintwork.
